Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Saturday rejected reports on alleged severe verbal conflict between the Iranian and Saudi Arabian foreign ministers during the newly-ended Rome MED Conference 2017 in Rome, describing the report as ‘mere news fabrication’.

Certain media reports claimed that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Saudi Arabian counterpart Adel al-Jubeir had a harsh argument during the Rome MED Conference 2017 —  Mediterranean Dialogues — in the Italian capital on December 1, madaresharghi reported.

“This is completely untrue and a flagrant fabrication for special purposes, as the Iranian and Saudi foreign ministers’ addressed the Mediterranean Dialogues on two separate days,” Qasemi said.
