Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif voiced Iran’s readiness to cooperate with the United Nations in all expected fields in Afghanistan.

“Iran has spared no effort to maintain stability in Afghanistan,” Zarif said in a meeting with Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General Tadamichi Yamamoto in Tehran on Monday, madaresharghi reported.

Iranian foreign minister underlined that cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan, the importance of accelerating the cooperation in political and economic fields and fighting threats and the terrorist group Daesh in the region.

Extending Iran’s support for Afghan government, Iran’s stance in creating stability in Afghanistan and also its support for the UN initiatives in establishing peace in the country were among topics discussed in the meeting.

Meanwhile, Yamamoto presented a detailed report of the current security conditions in Afghanistan and the ways to continue peace talks in the country to maintain peace and security there.
