Chairman of the Iranian Parliament\u2019s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi hailed recent advances of the Syrian Army and allied forces against terrorists in the Arab country, Tasnim News Agency reported.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cIran will continue to back Syria in the fight against terrorism and its supporters until the realization of victory and restoration of peace and stability to this country, which is imminent, is celebrated, which is in the offing,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Iranian lawmaker also stressed the need to promote parliamentary relations between Iran and Syria.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Syrian foreign minister praised Iran\u2019s continued support for his country and said Damascus will keep fighting against terrorism until all areas in Syria are liberated.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSyria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups, including Daesh terrorist group, currently controlling parts of it.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAccording to a report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people, injured 1.9 million others, and displaced nearly half of the country\u2019s pre-war population of about 23 million within or beyond its borders.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn the meantime, Iran has remained a close ally of Syria and supports its legitimate government in the face of foreign-backed militancy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>madaresharghi A senior Iranian lawmaker reiterated Tehran\u2019s unwavering policy on the Syrian crisis, saying the Islamic Republic would continue supporting the Arab country until \u201cthe realization of victory\u201d over foreign-backed terrorist groups.
