{"id":937,"date":"2017-10-03T17:56:44","date_gmt":"2017-10-03T17:56:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/madaresharghi.com\/daesh-defense-line-collapses-in-hawijah-as-iraqi-forces-liberate-more-villages\/"},"modified":"2017-10-03T17:56:44","modified_gmt":"2017-10-03T17:56:44","slug":"daesh-defense-line-collapses-in-hawijah-as-iraqi-forces-liberate-more-villages","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madaresharghi.ir\/en\/daesh-defense-line-collapses-in-hawijah-as-iraqi-forces-liberate-more-villages\/","title":{"rendered":"Daesh defense line collapses in Hawijah as Iraqi forces liberate more villages"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madaresharghi..com\">madaresharghi<\/a><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p><h2 class=\"lide\">A high-ranking commander of the Iraqi pro-government Popular Mobilization Units says the defense lines of Daesh Takfiri militants have collapsed in the northern town of Hawijah as army troops and their allied fighters have adanaced dozens of kilometers,  seizing nearly three dozen villages from the terrorists.<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div readability=\"67\">\n<p>\n\tJabbar al-Mamouri told Arabic-language\u00a0al-Sumaria\u00a0television network on Tuesday that Daesh militants can no longer put up stiff resistance in the face of advancing Iraqi soldiers and fighters from Popular Mobilization Units, better known by the Arabic name Hashd al-Sha\u2019abi, as the terror group\u2019s snipers stationed on rooftops and at vital intersections in the heart of Hawijah, located 45 kilometers west of Kirkuk, have fled to save their lives.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tMeanwhile, Secretary General of Iraq&#8217;s Badr Organization\u00a0Hadi al-Ameri\u00a0said Iraqi army forces and Hashd al-Sha\u2019abi fighters have retaken nearly 100 villages and hamlets ever since the operation to liberate Hawijah was launched late last month.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAmeri, in a press release issued on Tuesday, announced that al-Rashad area and Heynas air base have been completely purged of Daesh Takfiris.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image\"><figcaption\/><\/figure>\n<p>\n\tThe commander of the Hawijah liberation operation, Lieutenant General Abdul AmirYarallah,\u00a0also said members of the\u00a0Counter-Terrorism Service\u00a0(CTS), army units and Hashd al-Sha\u2019abi brigades have freed 35 villages during the second part of the second phase of Hawijah liberation operation.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on September 29 announced the start of the second phase of an offensive to liberate Hawijah from the grip of Daesh Takfiris.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cWe announce the start of the second phase of the liberation of Hawijah and all the surrounding areas to the west of Kirkuk, and as promised the sons of our country are continuing to liberate every inch of the land of Iraq and crush the gangs of the Daesh terrorist group,\u201d said Abadi in a statement.<\/p>\n<div readability=\"7\">\n<p>\n\t\tThe first phase of the operation to liberate Hawijah was launched on September 21.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\n\t\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>madaresharghi A high-ranking commander of the Iraqi pro-government Popular Mobilization Units says the defense lines of Daesh Takfiri militants have collapsed in the northern town of Hawijah as army troops and their allied fighters have adanaced dozens of kilometers, seizing nearly three dozen villages from the terrorists.
