A senior general with Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said the Daesh terror group will be uprooted in two months.<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe countries fighting Daesh will in two months celebrate its collapse, said Major General Qassem Soleimani, who commands the IRGC\u2019s Quds Force, the IRIB reported on Thursday, Press TV wrote.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIran, Russia, Syria, and Iraq should hold this celebration,\u201d said the general at a ceremony held in memory of an Iranian military adviser martyred in Syria.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe commander also slammed the US for its inaction in the face of Daesh terror activities and said Washington \u201chas made no move to eradicate\u201d the terror outfit.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHow can an administration, which created Daesh itself, claim to have played a noticeable role in fighting the outfit?\u201d asked the senior general. \u201cThe US defeat in the region is rooted in the lack of a wise leadership and having ignorant rulers.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn recent months, the Iraqi and Syrian armies have been dealing heavy blows to Daesh, ridding the terror group of its main strongholds in the neighboring Arab countries.<\/p>\n

\n\tAt Baghdad and Damascus\u2019 respective requests, Iran has been providing military advisory support to the countries\u2019 militaries in their counterterrorism operations.<\/p>\n

\n\tRussia has also been providing the Damascus government with military assistance in the face of terrorists.<\/p>\n

\n\tSoleimani also said there are three reasons why Iran is standing by Syria in the fight against terrorism.<\/p>\n

\n\tFirstly, he said, the terrorists \u201cconsider killing us to be an imperative.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tConsequently, diplomacy in such circumstances does not respond and the only way is to fight them, he added.<\/p>\n

\n\tSecondly, the general said, the terrorists seek to use Iraq and Syria as a bridge leading to Iran, noting, \u201cWe could not sit around to see Iraq and Syria fall, and then they reach us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd thirdly, the Islamic Republic has to defend itself against the enemy\u2019s goal of obliterating its independence and existence, the commander added.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn June 7, Daesh gunmen mounted almost simultaneous assaults on Iran\u2019s Parliament and the mausoleum of the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini. The twin attacks killed 17 people and injured over 15 more.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn response, the IRGC fired six ballistic missiles into Daesh bases in the eastern Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor later in June, leaving at least 65 terrorists dead.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn August, General Soleimani said Iranian forces would not rest until they have taken out every last terrorist from the face of the Muslim world after Daesh reportedly beheaded an Iranian military adviser in Syria.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
