{"id":716,"date":"2017-09-06T08:28:19","date_gmt":"2017-09-06T08:28:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madaresharghi.com\/hollywood-tycoon-questioned-over-bribing-israeli-premier\/"},"modified":"2017-09-06T08:28:19","modified_gmt":"2017-09-06T08:28:19","slug":"hollywood-tycoon-questioned-over-bribing-israeli-premier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madaresharghi.ir\/en\/hollywood-tycoon-questioned-over-bribing-israeli-premier\/","title":{"rendered":"Hollywood tycoon questioned over bribing Israeli premier"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madaresharghi..com\">madaresharghi<\/a><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p><h2 class=\"lide\">amous Hollywood producer Arnon Milchan has been interrogated in London over suspicions of bribing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div readability=\"74\">\n<p>\n\tMilchan was questioned last week as part of the so-called Case 1000 corruption investigation dealing with gifts given to Netanyahu and his family by businessmen, Haaretz reported.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn Case 1000, Netanyahu is suspected of having received gifts from businessmen overseas.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tHe is also being investigated in Case 2000 for an alleged media bribery scheme to help the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper against its competitor Israel Hayom in return for favorable coverage of the prime minister.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tMilchan had previously testified twice in the case, but it was the first time he was interrogated as a suspect.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn his previous testimonies, Milchan had confirmed suspicions that he delivered expensive gifts to Netanyahu and his wife in an attempt to influence the premier to help him promote his business in Israel and abroad.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tReports say Milchan\u2019s statements during the questioning session affirmed the suspicions against him.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe 72-year-old Israeli-American Hollywood tycoon has been the producer of many famous and award-winning movies, including Fight Club, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Birdman, Noah, 12 Years a Slave and The Devil\u2019s Advocate.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn a 2013 interview with Israel\u2019s Channel 2, Milchan revealed that he also worked as an arms dealer and as an Israeli intelligence operative in the late 1970s.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tHe also talked about his involvement in clandestine deals to promote Israel\u2019s nuclear activities.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAccording to a book titled Confidential: The Life of Secret Agent Turned Hollywood Tycoon Arnon Milchan, the movie tycoon was an operative for Israel\u2019s Bureau of Scientific Relations, which collected information for Israel\u2019s nuclear program.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>madaresharghi amous Hollywood producer Arnon Milchan has been interrogated in London over suspicions of bribing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
