Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi has slammed that the United States\u2019 move to impose an aerial blockade on buses carrying women and children as part of a deal between the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement and Daesh Takfiri terrorists.<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe US move to lay a siege to women and children given the country\u2019s history\u00a0of cooperation with Daesh [terrorist group] is regarded as an illogical issue,\u201d Qassemi said on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\n

\n\t\t\u201cIran believes that this is an attempt to negatively impact the victory of the Lebanese government and the resistance movement,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n\tThere is a \u201cfundamental difference\u201d between fighting armed Daesh terrorists and the killing of innocent people, he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tHe added that imposing a blockade on a number of women and children in a desert by the US has no military value and would not diminish Daesh terrorists\u2019 power but would stoke more violence in the region.<\/p>\n

\n

\n\t\t\u201cThe aerial siege against women and children in non-military buses and the killing of a number of pregnant women over the past two days may turn into a humanitarian disaster if continued,\u201d Qassemi said, warning that this could further spread violence across the region.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n\tHe went on to say that Daesh is nearing a complete collapse due to cooperation among the Iranian, Syrian, Lebanese and Iraqi governments and their armies and added that the fight against the terrorist group is forcefully ongoing\u00a0to eradicate terrorism in Syria and Iraq.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Iranian spokesperson also welcomed and expressed the country\u2019s support for the humanitarian efforts by the Lebanese government and Hezbollah to save innocent civilians, saying the move turned Lebanon\u2019s military victory into an even bigger one.<\/p>\n

\n

\n\t\t\u201cThe Islamic Republic of Iran, as a country which is at the forefront of the confrontation against terrorism, particularly Daesh, asks the United Nations to intervene in this issue and prevent the killing of innocent people,\u201d Qassemi said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n\tThe Syrian government on August 27 agreed to a deal between Hezbollah and Daesh Takfiri terrorists, which allows the transfer of the latter from the strategic and mountainous region of Qalamoun close to the border with Lebanon to eastern Syria.<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, the Lebanese resistance movement on Saturday accused the US of hampering an evacuation deal with the Daesh terrorist group.<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to a statement released by Hezbollah, US-led forces have left stranded most of the convoy\u2019s 17 buses in the Syrian desert by destroying the road to Dayr al-Zawr.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThey are also preventing anyone from reaching them even to provide humanitarian assistance to families, the sick and wounded and the elderly,\u201d said the statement.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe deal has been criticized by Washington and some government officials in Iraq as the terrorists are being transferred close to the Iraqi border.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn August 19, Hezbollah and the Syrian army launched an operation to purge Daesh from Qalamoun, located about 330 kilometers (205 miles) north of the Syrian capital Damascus.<\/p>\n
