Lebanon\u2019s Prime Minister Saad Hariri has rejected Israel\u2019s claims that Iran is building factories to produce missiles in Lebanese territory, accusing the Israeli regime of carrying out \u201cdeception campaigns.\u201d<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn an interview with French daily Le Monde, which was published on Friday, Hariri said Israel \u201cknows very well there are no missile factories in Lebanon\u201d, presstv.ir wrote.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring a meeting with United Nations (UN) Secretary General Antonio Guterres in Jerusalem al-Quds earlier this week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had claimed that Iran was \u201cbuilding sites to produce precision-guided missiles… in both Syria and in Lebanon.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIsrael\u2019s minister of military affairs, Avigdor Lieberman, also echoed Netanyahu\u2019s accusations against the Islamic Republic in a meeting with the UN chief, saying Iran was \u201cworking to set up factories to manufacture accurate weapons within Lebanon itself.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLater, Israeli media claimed that Hariri had raised \u201cobjections\u201d and was acting to stop the alleged factory construction.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the Le Monde interview, however, the Lebanese prime minister rejected the allegation altogether.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Israelis are used to conducting campaigns of deception,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs another case in point, Hariri referred to and dismissed Israeli claims about the Hezbollah resistance movement.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThey (the Israelis) say Hezbollah controls Lebanon, and that is not true. Hezbollah is present. It\u2019s in the government and it has support in the country. But this doesn\u2019t mean Hezbollah controls all of Lebanon,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast month, in a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Russia, Netanyahu accused Iran of trying \u201cto establish a foothold in Syria.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to a Russia Today report back then, Netanyahu was told that Moscow, \u201cwhich views Iran as key to resolving the [Syrian] crisis,\u201d would \u201cnote Israeli interests,\u201d in what likely amounts to a diplomatic dismissal of the Israeli claims.<\/p>\n

\n\tRussia and Iran have been in close coordination to assist the Syrian government\u2019s anti-terror fight.<\/p>\n
