Managing Director of Iran\u2019s MAPNA Industrial Group Abbas Aliabadi voiced his company\u2019s readiness to make investments in Iraqi energy projects.<\/p>\n
He said that MAPNA, an energy engineering conglomerate, has previously cooperated with Iraq in a number of projects including the Heidarieh Power Plant, Rumaila Combined-Cycle Power Plant, and Al-Sadr Gas Power Plants, reported Fars News Agency.<\/p>\n
The official said that enjoying well-trained staff as well as modern equipment and technology enables the company to work on megaprojects.<\/p>\n
Aliabadi said in June that Iran is ranked among the top five countries in the world in the construction of power plants.<\/p>\n
He noted that Iran is manufacturing a broad range of industrial machinery, turbines, generators, and control systems, stressing that the country is able to satisfy demand for every type of power plant equipment.<\/p>\n
More than 60 percent of power plants across Iran have been built by MAPNA, Aliabadi added, saying all of those plants are now in service.<\/p>\n
Aliabadi said that Indonesia, Oman, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, Russia, and European and African countries are now importing MAPNA products.<\/p>\n
He added that the Iran power industry is ready for technical and engineering cooperation with many countries.<\/p>\n
In 2018, Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian highlighted the country\u2019s self-sufficiency in the area of power generation and said the Islamic Republic is the top producer of electricity in the Middle East.<\/p>\n
He added that Iran\u2019s capabilities in the area of power generation have developed over the past four decades so much that the country has become the top producer of electricity in the region.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt present, we have energy exchanges with all the countries that share land borders with us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Iran has the capacity to generate 8,000 megawatts of electricity annually, which is a surplus and exceeds the national demand level of 3,000 to 4,000 megawatts.<\/p>\n
Since its establishment in 1993, MAPNA Industrial Group has been involved in over 100 projects, valued at more than \u20ac30 billion.<\/p>\n
Commissioned power plants by the group hold a total capacity of more than 35,000 MW. The synchronized capacity of power plants constructed by MAPNA constitutes nearly half of Iran\u2019s general power capacity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
