{"id":3722,"date":"2020-10-12T15:21:44","date_gmt":"2020-10-12T15:21:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/madaresharghi.ir\/en\/?p=3722"},"modified":"2020-10-12T15:21:44","modified_gmt":"2020-10-12T15:21:44","slug":"human-face-carved-in-high-relief-unearthed-in-persepolis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madaresharghi.ir\/en\/human-face-carved-in-high-relief-unearthed-in-persepolis\/","title":{"rendered":"Human Face Carved in High Relief Unearthed in Persepolis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A stone carving showing a human face in bas-relief has been newly discovered at the historical site of Persepolis in southern Iran.<\/p>\n<p>The discovery was made during the fourth stage of archaeological excavations at the location of water canals at the internationally recognized site of Persepolis.<\/p>\n<p>The excavations were aimed at unearthing the southern part of one of the canals leading to an unfinished gate to the historical site.<\/p>\n<p>No picture of the high relief figure has been presented to media, yet.<\/p>\n<p>Archaeologists working at the site say the human face is carved onto a piece of rock at the site, where new skeletons of humans and animals have also been dug out.<\/p>\n<p>Remnants of other carved figures have also been discovered at the site.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A stone carving showing a human face in bas-relief has been newly discovered at the historical site of Persepolis in southern Iran.
