Iran produced 468,699 vehicles during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21), according to statistics released by the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.<\/p>\n
The figure indicates that car manufacturing in the country rose 23.4 percent during the said period compared to the corresponding period last year, which was 379,820 cars, reported shatanews.ir.<\/p>\n
During the period, 425,925 passenger cars were produced in the country, registering a growth of 21.9 percent compared to the first six months of the previous year.<\/p>\n
The production of trucks reached 39,519 in the said period, which has increased by 40.4 percent compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n
Three major Iranian carmakers, namely, Iran Khodro Company (IKCO), SAIPA Group and Pars Khodro, manufactured 863,263 vehicles during the past Iranian year (ending March 19).<\/p>\n
During the previous year, IKCO manufactured 393,812 vehicles, while Saipa\u2019s production stood at 363,379, and Pars Khodro manufactured 106,072 cars.<\/p>\n
