The coronavirus outbreak has reduced the income of 70% of households living in the capital city, an opinion poll jointly conducted by the Social and Cultural Studies Department of Tehran Municipality and the Iranian Students Polling Agency shows.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\t\u201cCompared with the results of an earlier report by the two surveyors, \nthe new poll conducted between March 11-14 showed people\u2019s access to \nmedical and hygiene products improved by 9% and their lack of confidence\n in official statistics on mortalities and infected population declined \nby 14%,\u201d Mohammad Reza Javadi-Yeganeh, an official with Tehran \nMunicipality, tweeted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\t\u201cPeople\u2019s dissatisfaction with the performance of governmental and \npublic institutions in the management of the crisis has decreased by \n9%,” IRNA quoted him as saying. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tAccording to the results of the first round of the survey, \napproximately 63% of the residents of the capital city said they didn\u2019t \nhave sufficient access to medical and hygiene products, including masks \nand disinfectants, amid the increasing cases of COVID-19, of whom 74% \nblamed the shortage of these items in the market and 22% said they could\n not afford to buy masks or sanitizers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tAbout 61% of respondents in the former survey said they support \nwidespread quarantine of the city while 33% said they oppose it. More \nwomen were in favor of widespread quarantine or isolation of the city \nthan men (66% versus 56%), which is probably because of high employment \namong men than women. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tFor men, quarantine suggests lack of livelihoods while women are more \nconcerned about the health of their family and themselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tIn general, 50% of people said they were highly worried about the \nspread of coronavirus, of whom women accounted for 56% and men \nconstituted 44%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tNearly 39% of the respondents said they would stay at home once they \nsee symptoms of the virus while 23% said they would go to a hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tNearly 76% of the respondents said they believed justice was poorly \nserved when it came to the quality of medical services offered to \nofficials and ordinary people, Hamshahri Online reported.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
