\n\tThe development operation at Balal and Farzad joint fields has also \nbegun, he said, adding that the development projects of other joint \nfields including Azadegan, Yadavaran, and Yaran in West Karoun region \nare on agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tDehqan further pointed out that the NIOC has so far signed five \nIPC-based deals with domestic companies for development of the country\u2019s\n oilfields, adding that the sixth is ready to be signed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tThe official added that due to the coronavirus outbreak the signing \nceremony for the sixth contract has been postponed and the company will \ngo through with it in the near future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tHe also said over the past three years, the development of 10 fields \nwas awarded to domestic companies and a total of $10 billion in upstream\n contracts was signed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tDehqan referred to the NIOC\u2019s maintenance and recovery projects and \nsaid these projects which include engineering, procurement, and \nconstruction (EPC) and engineering, procurement and drilling (EPD) deals\n are going to be handed over in the framework of 33 projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tThe NIOC signed a contract with Total in 2017 for developing Phase 11 \nof South Pars Gas Field (shared with Qatar) with an initial investment \nof $1 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tThe company was pressured to leave Iran after the United States \nthreatened to impose sanctions on companies that do business in the \ncountry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tLater, Iran awarded the project to CNPC which was part of the consortium that was first supposed to carry out the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\tThe Chinese company, however, did not go on with the project and left \nthe contract like the French party and Itan\u2019s Petropars is now in charge\n of the phase development project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
