\u201cIt\u2019s completely visible that turning a blind eye to the current \nstate of the affairs shows that Europeans are not ready yet to pay the \nnecessary price for maintaining the most important diplomatic \nachievement and as they call it one of the most important foundations of\n non-proliferation architecture,\u201d said Kazem Qarib Abadi, Iran\u2019s \nAmbassador to the international organisations in Vienna, addressing the \nInternational Atomic Energy Agency\u2019s Board of Governors on Thursday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He mentioned that the they only way to keep 2015 nuclear agreement, \nalso known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), is that \nall sides live up to their commitments, adding that Europe needs to \ndefine the US destructive role as the main reason for the current state \nof the affairs instead of criticizing Iran. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Qarib Abadi also noted that western claims about nuclear \nproliferation due to resumption of Iran\u2019s nuclear energy programme is \n\u201cbaseless\u201d, stressing that such comments won\u2019t stop Iran from continuing\n its national plans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The US claim of negotiations with Iran is a mere political gesture \nto evade its responsibilities in living up to its international \ncommitments and nuclear weapons doesn\u2019t hold any place in Iran\u2019s \ndefensive and security doctrine,\u201d he declared. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Iranian envoy stated that if only Iran stays committed to the \ndeal, it will make it a unilateral agreement, mentioning that Iran\u2019s \nreduction of its voluntary nuclear commitments is meant to bring back \nthe balance to the pact. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iran has taken its fourth phase of cutting down on its nuclear \ncommitments in response to Europe\u2019s passivity to stand up against the US\n withdrawing from the deal and restoring economic sanctions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
