Iran\u2019s Foreign Ministry hammered Bahrain\u2019s top diplomat for describing international concerns about Palestine as a \u201cside issue\u201d, saying such unwise remarks reveal the Bahraini government\u2019s failure to realize the world\u2019s simplest issues.<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi made the remarks early on Friday, a day after Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa tried to downplay as a \u201cside issue\u201d US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Beit-ul-Moqaddas as Israel’s capital, Press TV reported.<\/p>\n

\n\t“It is regrettable to see an Arab and Islamic country call a seven-decade-old scar on the Islamic world’s wounded body a ‘side issue’ and so fatuously fail to realize the simplest of world affairs, thus embarrassing itself and its people… with such mean and baseless statements,” he wrote in a statement.<\/p>\n

\n\t“Despite all complex plots, manufactured crises and fictitious threats propagated by the US-Zionism axis, Palestine still is and will remain the Islamic world’s number one priority until it is liberated, and no one… can distract Muslims from this serious issue,” he added.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe United Nations General Assembly has voted in favor of a resolution that calls on the US to withdraw its controversial recognition of Beit-ul-Moqaddas as Israeli “capital.”<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile the Bahraini minister did not specifically mention the Beit-ul-Moqaddas issue, his statement came at the same time as Trump\u2019s threats before a UN General Assembly vote about his decision on Thursday.<\/p>\n
