\u201cChronicle of a Passion\u201d, a drama by Italian director Fabrizio Cattani, was the big winner of the 6th International Urban Film Festival as it scooped up three awards in various categories including best film at the Iranian event on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The film also brought Cattani the award for best director and Valeria Ciangottini the best actress award during the closing ceremony of the festival at Tehran\u2019s Milad Tower.<\/p>\n
\u201cChronicle of a Passion\u201d features a married couple in their sixties who are forced to face the disgrace of tax problems and eviction.<\/p>\n
The award for best actor went to Mohsen Tanabandeh from Iran for his role in director Alireza Davudnejad\u2019s \u201cFerrari\u201d, which also won Kambuzia Partovi the award for best screenwriter. <\/p>\n
The best technical achievement award was presented to Dudu Miranda, the photography director of Brazilian filmmaker Ricardo Mehedff\u2019s \u201cInner Court\u201d.<\/p>\n
The jury honored director Mohammad Kart from Iran with its special prize for his latest movie \u201cAvantage\u201d, while cinematographer Mahmud Kalari and veteran actress Jaleh Olov received awards for their lifetime achievements.<\/p>\n
The winners in the national competition were also honored.<\/p>\n
Director Saeid Rustai\u2019s poverty and drug movie \u201cLife+1 Day\u201d was named best film, while Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian was picked as best director for his political drama \u201cThe Midday Event\u201d.<\/p>\n
Partovi also received the award for best screenwriter in the national competition for his collaboration in \u201cFerrari\u201d.<\/p>\n
The best actress award went to Pardis Ahmadieh for her role in \u201cRed Nail Polish\u201d by Seyyed Jamal Seyyed-Hatami, and Nasser Hashemi won the best actor award for his role in \u201cMy Brother Khosro\u201d by Ehsan Beiglari.<\/p>\n
Makeup artists Mehrdad Mirkiani and Abdollah Eskandari shared the best technical achievement award for \u201cLanturi\u201d.<\/p>\n
