Pakistan Foreign ministry spokesperson said that Islamabad supports the declaration of the OIC extaordinary summit, recognizing Holu Quds (Jerusalem) as Palestine’s capital ‘under occupation’.<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLeaders of the Islamic countries in the extraordinary summit of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Istanbul, Turkey, on Dec 13, rejected and condemned in the strongest terms the unilateral decision by the President of the United States recognizing the Holy Quds as the so-called capital of the Zionist regime of Israel, the occupying power, Muhammad Faisal said during his weekly news briefing on Thursday, madaresharghi reported.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

He noted that the National Assembly and Senate of Pakistan, on December 11, 2017, unanimously passed resolutions, strongly condemning the decision of the United States to recognize Holy Quds as the capital of Zionist regime and called on the US to immediately revisit its decision in order to avoid the potentially grave repercussions in the region and beyond and to play its role to de-escalate the situation on the ground on the basis of International Law, International Humanitarian Law and the previous agreements and obligations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Commenting on Pakistan\u2019s grave concern about the presence and growing activities of Daesh in Afghanistan, the spokesman said Islamabad is especially alarmed at Daesh presence in Afghanistan\u2019s province bordering Pakistan.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDaesh is also present in Afghan provinces bordering China, Iran and Central Asian republics,\u201d he noted.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
