According to Araqi, the pipeline will have the capacity to transfer 110 million cubic meters of gas a day from South Pars Gas Field in the Persian Gulf to southern and western regions, namely Hamedan and Kermanshah provinces. In July 2015, a build-operate-transfer contract to lay IGAT-6 was signed by Gas Engineering and Development Company and Pasargad Energy Development Company.\u00a0 The project included the establishment of over 600 kilometers of pipeline, in addition to installing five gas compressor stations, at an estimated cost of $2.2 billion.
