Foreign Ministry spokesman has said that the closing statement of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council summit in Kuwait is a clear example of lack of proper understanding about regional realities and priorities.<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe move attests to ignoring regional realities and closing eyes to the ongoing developments under the current sensitive situation by the PGCC, proving inefficiency of the council which is currently suffering from internal disputes,\u201d Bahram Qasemi said on Wednesday while reacting to the statement, madaresharghi reported.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In their final statement which was issued on December 5, the PGCC members repeated unfounded their claim over the three Iranian islands of the Abu Musa and the Greater and the Lesser Tunbs in the Persian Gulf.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe PGCC is evading its Islamic and human responsibilities and only pays attention to unimportant issues instead of dealing with major problems facing the Islamic world and supporting the oppressed Palestinian nation by reacting to the controversial plan of relocating US Embassy to the Holy Quds,\u201d Qasemi said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe bloc’s summit has not even mentioned Saudi Arabia and its accomplices’ daily crimes in Yemen, closing its eyes to the massacre of innocent women and children in the impoverished country, which will put him among the criminals,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Without dealing with the root causes and major sponsors of terrorism and Takfiri thoughts, the summit which was held amid disputes among its non-allied members, raised fake and baseless claims against Iran which is playing a crucial role in fighting terrorism in the region, the spokesman said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The official also recommended the PGCC to abandon the blame game and take steps in line with deeper understanding about regional realities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reiterating Iran’s historic sovereignty over the three islands of Abu Musa and the Greater and Lesser Tunbs, Qasemi rejected the unfounded claim, describing it a clear interference in the Islamic Republic’s sovereignty and violation of international regulations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Such \u201cbaseless claims,\u201d he said, \u201dcannot change the historic and legal facts.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He advised the PGCC \u201cto stick to rational and sincere approaches rather than following up on adventurist and excessive policies.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Islamic Republic has always declared its readiness for talks and consultations with the council member states with the aim of reducing tension and solving regional problems, Qasemi added.<\/span><\/p>\n

He reaffirmed Iran’s belief that the \u201crule of force, massacre of nations and resorting to aliens will not help solve regional issues.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
