\n\t\t\tA Palestinian official told the media on Wednesday that the address was going to be a direct answer to Trump’s possible recognition of the city as Israel’s capital.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t“The president (Abbas) will first listen to President Trump’s speech, and will then give a response,” the unnamed\u00a0official told Reuters, adding that the remarks would be broadcast on Palestine TV.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAbbas has already warned his American counterpart against the “dangerous” move, threatening to cut ties with Washington on all levels.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTrump is likely to authorize the relocation in a live address on 1 p.m. EDT (1800 GMT), multiple reports suggest, citing unnamed US officials.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSince the US Congress ruled in 1995 that the embassy be relocated from Tel Aviv, every president has deferred the troublesome measure by signing a six-month waiver included in the bill.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTrump signed his own first waiver in June, drawing fire from Israel by backtracking on one of his key campaign promises.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe entire Jerusalem al-Quds is currently under Israel\u2019s control, while the regime also claims the city\u2019s eastern part, which hosts the third holiest Muslim site.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe city,\u00a0which Palestinians want as the capital of their future state, has been designated as \u201coccupied\u201d under international law since the 1967 Arab War.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tIsrael lays claim to the entirety of Jerusalem al-Quds as its \u201ccapital\u201d while Palestinians want its eastern part as the capital of a future state for themselves.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\u00a0In a rare show of unity against the Tel Aviv regime, 151 countries voted on Thursday to adopt a resolution that denounced Israel as the \u201coccupying power\u201d of the city, which is holy to Muslims, Christians, and Jews alike.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tPalestinians have warned that the potential relocation would fuel strong reaction in the region and deliver a death blow to any prospect of resolving the Israeli- Palestinian conflict.<\/p>\n
