{"id":1820,"date":"2017-11-20T12:08:30","date_gmt":"2017-11-20T13:08:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madaresharghi.com\/iran-saudi-vain-policies-main-reason-behind-regional-problems\/"},"modified":"2017-11-20T12:08:30","modified_gmt":"2017-11-20T13:08:30","slug":"iran-saudi-vain-policies-main-reason-behind-regional-problems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madaresharghi.ir\/en\/iran-saudi-vain-policies-main-reason-behind-regional-problems\/","title":{"rendered":"Iran: Saudi \u2018vain policies\u2019 main reason behind regional problems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madaresharghi..com\">madaresharghi<\/a><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p><h2 class=\"lide\">Iran\u2019s Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi on Monday called Saudi Arabia\u2019s \u201cvain policies\u201d the main reason behind the current problems in the region.<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div readability=\"79\">\n<p>\n\tQassemi made the comments in reaction to a statement by the Arab League against Iran and Hezbollah, madaresharghi reported.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tHe said that solution to the problems in the region is not issuing \u201cworthless statements\u201d, but not following the policies of Israeli regime.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tQassemi rejected the Arab League\u2019s final statement as a Saudi Arabian document \u201cfull of lies and distortion\u201d issued in the name of the Arab League foreign ministers.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tInstead of resorting to political pressures and issuing such statements, Saudi Arabia should immediately end the savage aggression against Yemen, the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSince March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its allies have launched a military campaign against Yemen to restore power to the former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tSince then, more than 14,000 people have been killed and millions have been forced from their homes, while the country is also facing severe famine and a deadly cholera outbreak.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Iranian official also urged Riyadh to reverse the policy of pressure on its Arab neighbors, including Lebanon and Qatar, and stop the military campaign on Yemen to allow for negotiated peace in that country.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIran\u2019s policy is to boost good relations with regional countries, he said and added that the Islamic Republic has made great efforts to counter terrorism and help solve regional crises by actively participating in several rounds of peace talks in the Kazakh capital of Astana on the Syrian conflict and presenting a peace plan for Yemen.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tArab League foreign ministers meeting in Cairo on Sunday accused Iran and Lebanon\u2019s Hezbollah movement of destabilizing the region and vowing to take the matter to the UN Security Council.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tLebanese President Michel Aoun rejected the Arab League statement.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAoun said Lebanon had been subjected to Israeli \u201caggression\u201d for decades and had the right to defend itself. Hezbollah forced Israel to withdraw from southern Lebanon in 2000 and continues to portray itself as Lebanon\u2019s first line of defense.
