{"id":1795,"date":"2017-11-19T02:27:33","date_gmt":"2017-11-19T03:27:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/madaresharghi.com\/israel-calls-on-arab-states-to-befriend-israel-team-up-against-iran\/"},"modified":"2017-11-19T02:27:33","modified_gmt":"2017-11-19T03:27:33","slug":"israel-calls-on-arab-states-to-befriend-israel-team-up-against-iran","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madaresharghi.ir\/en\/israel-calls-on-arab-states-to-befriend-israel-team-up-against-iran\/","title":{"rendered":"Israel calls on Arab states to befriend Israel, team up against Iran"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madaresharghi..com\">madaresharghi<\/a><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p><h2 class=\"lide\">Israeli minister of military affairs has extended the hand of friendship to Arab countries, calling on them to form an alliance against Iran.<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div readability=\"115\">\n<p>\n\tAvigdor Lieberman wrote on his Facebook page on Saturday that the Middle East region now requires an anti-Iran coalition, presstv.com reported.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tHe also hailed former Egyptian President Anwar Sadat as \u201ca courageous leader who stood against the tide,\u201d urging Arab leaders to follow in his footsteps to visit Jerusalem al-Quds and sign a peace deal with Israel.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201c40 years after his (Sadat\u2019s) historic visit to Israel, I call on leaders in the region to follow the path of President Sadat, come to Jerusalem (al-Quds) and open a new chapter, not just in terms of Israel\u2019s relations with the Arab world, but for the whole region,\u201d Lieberman wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn November 1977, Sadat became the first Arab leader to visit the occupied territories, where he met with then Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, and spoke before the parliament, known as the Knesset, sparking anger in the Muslim world.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn September 1978, the two officials signed the Camp David Accords following twelve days of secret negotiations. In March 1979, Egypt and Israel finally concluded a formal peace treaty in Washington.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cThe Middle East today needs, more than anything else, a coalition of moderate states against Iran. The coalition against Daesh [terror outfit] has finished its work, after Daesh, Iran,\u201d Lieberman said.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Tel Aviv regime has been accused of colluding with terrorist groups, such as Daesh, which is currently losing ground against the Syrian army.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn the past few years, Israel has frequently attacked military targets in Syria in what is considered as an attempt to prop up militants who have been suffering heavy defeats against pro-Damascus troops.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tOn several occasions, the Syrian military has confiscated Israeli-made arms and military equipment from militants. Israel has also been providing medical treatment to the Takfiri elements wounded in Syria.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tLieberman\u2019s comments came two days after Israeli military Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Gadi Eizenkot expressed the regime\u2019s readiness \u201cto exchange experiences with moderate Arab countries and exchange intelligence to confront Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn an interview with the Saudi-owned Elaph online newspaper, Eizenkot claimed that Iran was the &#8220;biggest threat to the region,\u201d noting that Tel Aviv and Riyadh were in full agreement about Iran&#8217;s intentions.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIsrael has no full diplomatic relations with Arab countries, except with Egypt and Jordan. However, recent reports suggest an Israel-Saudi rapprochement.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tA secret, undated letter from Saudi foreign minister to the crown prince which sets out plans for the establishment of ties with Israel.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBack in June, Lieberman called for a deal with Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, as a prerequisite for any agreement to resolve the decades-long conflict with the Palestinians.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tHe further underlined the need for \u2018a full regional agreement\u2019 with what he called \u201call moderate Sunni states, including Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>madaresharghi Israeli minister of military affairs has extended the hand of friendship to Arab countries, calling on them to form an alliance against Iran.
