{"id":1605,"date":"2017-11-06T19:43:30","date_gmt":"2017-11-06T20:43:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/madaresharghi.com\/mapna-to-construct-combined-cycle-plant-near-armenia-border\/"},"modified":"2017-11-06T19:43:30","modified_gmt":"2017-11-06T20:43:30","slug":"mapna-to-construct-combined-cycle-plant-near-armenia-border","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madaresharghi.ir\/en\/mapna-to-construct-combined-cycle-plant-near-armenia-border\/","title":{"rendered":"MAPNA to Construct Combined-Cycle Plant Near Armenia Border"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madaresharghi..com\">madaresharghi<\/a><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p> \tIran\u2019s top engineering and energy enterprise MAPNA Group on Monday signed an agreement with a domestic company for building a combined-cycle power plant in the city of Jolfa, East Azarbaijan Province.<br \/> \tAccording to IRNA, the 451-megawatt power plant will comprise a gas unit, a steam unit, a waste heat recovery boiler, a main cooling tower and a 400-kilovolt substation.<br \/> \tThe power plant is to use cutting-edge F-class gas turbines with an efficiency rate of 58%.<br \/> \tAbdolrahim Kazemi, MAPNA\u2019s marketing and sales manager, estimated the contract\u2019s value to be \u20ac250 million ($290 million).<br \/> \tHe added that the plant, which is slated to go on stream in 40 months in Aras Free Trade-Industrial Zone near the border with Armenia in northwest Iran, will be wholly implemented by Iranian engineers.<br \/> \tMAPNA Group is a conglomerate of Iranian companies involved in development and execution of thermal and renewable power, oil and gas, rail transportation and other industrial projects as well as manufacturing equipment.<br \/> \tThe company last year signed a contract with Siemens for more than 20 gas turbines and associated generators that will be delivered over the next decade, as well as for the transfer of turbine manufacturing know-how. Siemens shipped its first F-class turbine to MAPNA in September last year.<br \/> \tThe two sides are also set to cooperate on the expansion and optimization of Iran&#8217;s power infrastructure, according to a statement on Siemens\u2019 website.<br \/> \tMAPNA also signed a $2.5 billion contract in July 2015 with Shamara Group, an Iraqi consortium of 14 industrial and energy companies, to build a 3,000-megawatt power plant in Basra, known as Rumaila Combined-Cycle Power Plant, in four years.<br \/> \tAccording to MAPNA CEO Abbas Aliabadi, the Rumaila power plant is the biggest technical project in the Middle East, which will increase Iraq&#8217;s total power generation capacity by 20%.<\/p>\n<p> \t\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>madaresharghi Iran\u2019s top engineering and energy enterprise MAPNA Group on Monday signed an agreement with a domestic company for building a combined-cycle power plant in the city of Jolfa, East Azarbaijan Province.
