{"id":1298,"date":"2017-10-24T15:52:14","date_gmt":"2017-10-24T15:52:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madaresharghi.com\/iraq-raising-crude-exports-to-make-up-for-kirkuk-shortfall\/"},"modified":"2017-10-24T15:52:14","modified_gmt":"2017-10-24T15:52:14","slug":"iraq-raising-crude-exports-to-make-up-for-kirkuk-shortfall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madaresharghi.ir\/en\/iraq-raising-crude-exports-to-make-up-for-kirkuk-shortfall\/","title":{"rendered":"Iraq Raising Crude Exports to Make Up for Kirkuk Shortfall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/madaresharghi..com\">madaresharghi<\/a><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p> \tIraq said it was increasing oil exports on Saturday from the southern Basra region by 200,000 barrels per day to make up for a shortfall from the northern Kirkuk fields.<br \/> \tThe output from the northern Kirkuk region fell this week in the course of military operations to take it back from Kurdish fighters who took control of the fields since 2014, Reuters reported.<br \/> \tThe increase in Basra exports keeps Iraq\u2019s total output within the quota agreed with the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, the oil ministry said in a statement citing Iraqi Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luaibi.<br \/> \tHe said 200,000 barrels per day will be shipped from southern Basra export terminal on top of the usual volumes exported daily, which exceeds 3.2 million barrels.<br \/> \t\u201cThese additional volumes will be produced until the northern oil output goes back to its previous level,\u201d he said.<br \/> \tIraq will not be able to restore Kirkuk\u2019s oil output to last week\u2019s levels before Sunday because of missing equipment at two of the largest fields of the region, Avana and Bai Hasan, an oil ministry official told Reuters on Thursday.<br \/> \tUntil these shutdowns, the northern oil region exported about 530,000 barrels per day, of which about half came from the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region and the rest from the disputed Kirkuk Province, claimed by both the Kurds and the Iraqi central authorities.<br \/> \tKurdish Peshmerga forces deployed in Kirkuk in 2014 when the Iraqi Army fled its positions in the face of an advance by the self-styled Islamic State militants.<br \/> \tThe Kurdish move prevented the militants from taking control of its oilfields.<\/p>\n<p> \t\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>madaresharghi Iraq said it was increasing oil exports on Saturday from the southern Basra region by 200,000 barrels per day to make up for a shortfall from the northern Kirkuk fields.
