Head of the Parliament\u2019s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi called for Iran and Turkey’s swift response in addressing the need for preserving Iraq\u2019s territorial integrity following Kurdistan region\u2019s insistence on separation.<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBoroujerdi held talks on bilateral and regional issues with Turkish Parliamentary National Defense Committee head Yusuf Beyaz\u0131t in Tehran on Monday, MNA reported.<\/p>\n

\n\tBoroujerdi voiced concern over the current situation in the Iraqi Kurdistan region, highlighting Iran\u2019s principled policy on defending the territorial integrity of Iraq; \u201cIran and Turkey need to use every single capacity to resolve this issue as soon as possible, because preserving the territorial integrity of regional countries is a highly significant principle.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe then discussed US President Donald Trump\u2019s remarks on the Iran\u2019s nuclear deal, saying, \u201cDonald Trump\u2019s remarks once again proved that the American government cannot be trusted.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWashington\u2019s treatment of the nuclear deal encourages the views of countries such as North Korea,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n

\n\tYusuf Beyaz\u0131t, who also heads Turkey-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group, noted the two countries\u2019 common stances on issues related to Iraq, Syria and Palestine, adding, \u201cKRG moves will no doubt cause problems for Iran and Turkey. It is clear that the US and Israeli regime are behind the Kurdistan region\u2019s move for splitting from Iraq.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe went on to stress that Turkey\u2019s reaction toward KRG issue would be \u2018decisive.\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\tBeyaz\u0131t further voiced his country\u2019s support for the Iran nuclear deal, and the interest in keeping the borders of the two countries open full-time, increasing economic exchanges and expanding political relations, providing finance and facilitating banking cooperation.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe are hoping that the level of trade transactions between the two countries will reach the $30 billion that was determined during President Rouhani\u2019s visit to Turkey,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
