Russia will host a Syrian summit on November 22 involving officials from Iran and Turkey, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.
The meeting will be held in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi, RT reported.
Turkish state media also reported on Thursday that President Vladimir Putin will host his Iranian and Turkish counterparts Hassan Rouhani and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for talks on Syria, according to AFP.
The meeting is the first such three-way summit, and comes as Moscow, Tehran and Ankara cooperate on ending the war in Syria.
The three states are sponsoring peace talks in the Kazakh capital Astana, and are also implementing a plan for de-escalation zones in Syria.
The cooperation comes despite Turkey still officially being on an opposite side of the Syria conflict from Russia and Iran.
Russia and Iran are the key backers of Syrian government and Moscow’s military support inside Syria is widely seen as tipping the balance in the conflict.
Turkey, however, has backed the armed groups seeking President Bashar al-Assad’s ouster in the bloody conflict.
But Russia and Turkey have been working together since a 2016 reconciliation deal ended a crisis caused by the shooting down of a Russian warplane over Syria.
In recent months, Turkey has markedly toned down its criticism of the Syrian government and focused on opposing Syrian Kurdish forces.
According to the Anadolu Agency, Putin and Erdogan have already met five times this year and spoken by telephone 13 times.
